About Us
Study Buddy started assisting school learners informally some 15 years ago. In the year 2009, all our prior effort and a vision to help children achieve to their true potential crystallised into a formal, registered and statutorily compliant entity called Study Buddy.
Study Buddy has been borne out of a need to fill serious gaps in the provision of extra lessons to school learners. Study Buddy also addresses the macro issue of poor national performance in subjects like Mathematics, Science, English, Accounting and The Economic & Management Sciences.
Our firm belief is that after each extra lesson, your child must feel like she/he has learnt a sufficient amount to achieve 10% higher in her/his next school task.
Via careful dissemination of technical information in an interactive, friendly environment, Study Buddy grows school children from the 20% 's into the 50%'s and 60% 's. When we take your child into the 60%'s we then groom her/him to get ready for the 80%'s.

Sanishka Beharilal (Grade 11, 2022): Mathematics started at 72% in October 2022 and ended at 85% in November 2022 (under 2 months)
Genevieve Joubert (Grade 6, 2022): Mathematics started at 65% in May 2022 and ended at 83% in November 2022 (6 months).
Dharshan Lalla (Grade 10, 2021): Mathematics started at 44% in May 2021 and ended at 83% (exam in November 2021) (6 months).

Sudesh Panday
Founder & CEO
Sudesh is the Founder & CEO of Study Buddy. He has 25 years' post-graduate experience. Sudesh's qualifications are BSc (Mathematics 3, Physics 3) UKZN (SA) and Post-Graduate (Actuarial Science) IFoA (UK). Sudesh specialises in Mathematics, Advanced Mathematics, Advanced Programme Mathematics, Probability & Statistics, Mathematics of Finance, Life Contingencies, Economics, Mortality and Applied Actuarial Statistics. Sudesh is a member of the Actuarial Society of South Africa (ASSA (SA)) and of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA (UK)).
Ashni Panday
Commerce Specialist
Ashni is a passionate educator in Accounting, The Economic & Management Sciences and Business. Her post-graduate experience of 25 years shows in her performance at Study Buddy, e.g. her achievement of 10 distinctions and 14 "B" aggregates in Accounting. Ashni exemplifies the importance of consistency & continuity by passionately building up school learners from a young school grade, up to matric (grade 12). Ashni is formally qualified with a BEd (UKZN (SA)) and a HDE (UKZN(SA)). Ashni is also professionally affiliated to the South African Council of Educators (SACE).
Yannick Mvondo-She
Scientist
Study Buddy has been fortunate to bring on board whizz-kid and master communicator in Yannick. Our youngest team member has amassed in excess of 15 years' post-graduate experience. Yannick's patient approach in our Science classes shows in his excellent Science performance figures. Yannick's ability to communicate complex Scientific principles in a manner that enables our young school learners to grow in their Science performance has made him an invaluable asset. Yannick's formal qualifications are BSc (Honours) (Physics) (UNISA (SA)) and MSc(Physics) (UP (SA)). Yannick is currently pursuing his PhD (Physics).
Anil Singh
English Master
Anil's experience in excess of 40 years comes to bear on Study Buddy's English offering. Lecturer, educator and principal are some of Anil's innumerable career achievements. Anil's ability to consistently bring researched, referenced material to the table and his exceptionally patient English dissemination are unparalleled. Anil's formal qualifications include BA (UNISA), BEd (UNISA) and Masters in English (UNISA). Anil has served in English national examination panels for a time period of just under 20 years. Anil is professionally affiliated to the South African Council of Educators (SACE).
